Hello, my name is Larisa Rus aka

When asked what my hobbies are, travel is not one of them, only because travel should never be a hobby, travel is a lifestyle, a choice to live in an alternative and a uniquely sustainable way. I am travel photographer based in LA and Boulder, CO with a background in architecture and a distinct eye to capture the built environment. My travels have taken me to some of the world’s most remote places that inspire me to capture designs in nature, designs in dwellings and in context to their humble surroundings. I find it centers my soul and develops an understanding with the place. My style is filled with environment, mood, belonging, and isolation.  

With years in the professional world of architecture, working on some of the largest entertainment-based projects around the world, my transition to photography has been one led by passion and fueled with years of design, the two have formed into a truly unique photographic experience and journey. My quest for design has led me to create and brand an artisanal honey company which I started in 2014 that gives me the ability to think in different scales of design.

From my travels, I live my life through the eyes of the world, through my lens exists 5 oceans, 6 mountain ranges, and 23 deserts. When broken down into their categories the list seems extremely easy and achievable over a lifetime. Over the past 5 years I have been photographing, staying in the most unique places and hiking my way through 36 countries and counting.

Self-improvement, outdoor adventure, and creativity make me SUPER excited and I get to share some of my journey exploring all three both on here and on my instagram.
