Casa Sisal was constructed in 2007 within the drying field walls of Hacienda Sac Chich and provides an interesting contemporary architectural counterpoint to the historical hacienda located next door. This award wining house combines the use of the Mayan plaster technique of chukum on all interior and exterior surfaces and other historical touches to tie it to the neighboring hacienda.
